Matt Gannon is an aspiring sociologist with a focus on developing housing-based solutions to homelessness. As a recipient of the prestigious Marshall Scholarship, Matt is pursuing concurrent degrees: an MA in Sociology at the University of Manchester and an MSc in Evidence-Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation at the University of Oxford. His academic and advocacy work is driven by a passion to address and reduce the stigmatization of unhoused individuals, an endeavor that commenced during his undergraduate years at Dartmouth College. As a John Robert Lewis Scholar, Matt's advocacy has primarily concentrated on dismantling the systemic criminalization of homelessness. His current engagement involves supporting research aimed at preventing homelessness at the Centre for Homelessness Impact. Matt's dedication to social justice and policy reform is evident in his commitment to integrating rigorous academic research with practical intervention strategies.
