Zython LachicaI am currently undertaking doctoral training in Primary Health Care at the University of Oxford, where I also completed a master’s in Modelling for Global Health. My research uses modelling and simulation to address health-related challenges, including work on canine rabies, COVID-19, and—more recently—cancer, with a focus on sarcoma (rare bone and soft-tissue cancers). Before my doctorate, I spent five years in transdisciplinary infectious and neglected tropical disease modelling, alongside leadership and R&D management.
Most recently, before beginning my doctorate, I served as Lead Researcher and Executive Assistant to the Center Director at the Mindanao Center for Disease Watch and Analytics, University of the Philippines Mindanao. I contributed in the setting of the Center’s R&D direction, facilitated and built collaborations with regional health development centers, oversaw daily operations, and led disease-modelling efforts while mentoring junior colleagues and undergraduate thesis students. These experiences equip me to develop grassroots solutions to real-world health challenges. |
